SANADA Provides Update Ahead Of NJPW Return

Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA also implicitly criticised Jon Moxley.

Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA has been out of action since April, but recently gave an official interview with New Japan Pro Wrestling ahead of his return.

SANADA is set to take on David Finlay for the IWGP Global Championship on June 16, one week after New Japan's Dominion pay per view on the 9th of the month

On the topic of Finlay and current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley, SANADA stated:

"You can say that the champion is a special attraction, but I think there’s a problem with the champion not being on the road every night. There are towns where NJPW can only come once a year or so, and those people can’t see the champ, the face of the company."

In terms of Finlay specifically, and the Global Championship for which he'll be competing, SANADA explained:

"The Global title is too new to really have an opinion on it. But when you’re taking an established title and destroying it to form a new one, then it’s hard to get emotionally attached to it. But that history is something to build from here on out. If a former World Champion like myself held the Global title too, well that gives it a lot of significance in my book."
