There were a couple of major injury scares during MLW's Kings of Colosseum event on January 11.

The first saw Mads Krugger accidentally take out cameraman Charlie Bruzzese during the Gravity Gamble match. Thankfully, Bruzzese was said to be okay.

The second occurred following Matt Riddle's MLW World Heavyweight Championship victory over Satoshi Kojima in the show's main event. During Riddle's title celebration, Kojima accidentally rolled into some pyro, which fired directly into his face.

Kojima was reportedly in a lot of pain and everyone backstage freaked out after it, but he came out of it relatively unscathed and was said to be fine. The broadcast of the show did not show the incident happening.

Kojima won the MLW World Heavyweight Title for the second time in February 2024, over two decades after he first claimed the prize.

Shortly after his second title triumph, the 54-year-old granted fans permission to eat chocolate bread for Valentine's Day.

Though he has lost his world title to Riddle, Kojima still holds gold in MLW. At Eric Bischoff's One-Shot (on December 5), Kojima and Okumura beat Contra Unit (Ikuro Kwon & Minoru Suzuki) to bag the MLW World Tag Team Titles.
