"Stone Cold" Steve Austin was originally planned to have a larger role at WrestleMania 41 before the company's plans for the biggest show of the year changed.
Steve Austin made his first appearance on WWE programming in three years on night two of WrestleMania 41 as Austin drove an ATV to the ring, crashed into the barricade, and then announced the attendance for the event inside Allegiant Stadium. Austin noted he crashed into the barricade due to the ATV having a different throttle setup to what he was used to.
WWE: Unreal has revealed, however, that a version of the WrestleMania 41 card produced before the company decided Jey Uso would win the Royal Rumble listed Steve Austin as the special guest referee for Bron Breakker vs. Drew McIntyre. That singles match ultimately didn't take place at WrestleMania, though, as Breakker defended the Intercontinental Title in a four-way and Drew McIntyre faced Damian Priest in a Street Fight.
In further alternative WrestleMania 41 plans for Steve Austin, Logan Paul offered the WWE Hall of Famer $1 million to dress as the giant PRIME bottle at the Showcase of the Immortals. The Texas Rattlesnake turned Paul down, however.
