Scrypts To Exit WWE When His Contract Expires

Scrypts/Reggie to leave WWE when his contract expires

A WWE NXT talent will be leaving the company when their deal expires.

According to Fightful Select, Scrypts (FKA Reggie) has been informed that his deal won't be renewed when it expires at the beginning of June and he will become a free agent. Fightful noted that Reggie is planning to continue wrestling after his deal expires and he expected his contract to not be renewed. Reggie will likely go by Sidney Akeem upon his WWE departure.

Real name Sidney Bateman, the 31-year-old signed with WWE in January 2020 and he debuted on TV later that year as Carmella's sommelier. He initially performed as Reginald before transitioning to Reggie and a partnership with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. From there, Reggie moved to the 24/7 Title picture before he exited WWE TV altogether in 2022.

Reggie would resurface in NXT a few months later as Scrypts, a character inspired by the WWE Performance Center stalker. The gimmick failed to get over with the NXT audience and he has only had 15 matches since September 2023, with only two of them taking place on NXT TV.
