Seth Rollins Calls Dave Meltzer's Match Ratings 'Very Silly'

Seth Rollins on Dave Meltzer's match ratings

Dave Meltzer's match ratings in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter have often been at the centre of controversy and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has taken aim at the system, praising Meltzer for being a "great historian" while also saying that his match ratings are "very silly."

"If I'm not mistaken, I think that Kurt Angle has no five-star matches. Okay? One of the greatest of all time, and there's a plethora of these people. My point is Dave's great. He's a great historian, he's been a part of the business for a long, long time... He's great as a historian, but match ratings are silly, match ratings are very silly. It's so subjective. If it's good, it's good. You know when something's good," Rollins said on IMPAULSIVE.

Rollins has only been awarded one five-star match so far by Meltzer for his 2022 Hell in a Cell clash with Cody Rhodes. The match was hailed by many as one of the best of the year and saw Cody Rhodes pick up his third win over Rollins while wrestling with a torn pectoral muscle.

Rollins has a plethora of matches above four stars in Dave Meltzer's rating system.
