All Elite Wrestling are set to return to New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 20, for the third annual Grand Slam editions of Dynamite and Rampage.
The September 13 edition of Dynamite saw three new title matches confirmed for Dynamite Grand Slam, with the AEW World Championship a stronger contender to headline the show.
On Dynamite, MJF found out who he would be putting the ‘Triple B’ on the line against in his home state of New York, when Samoa Joe overcame Roderick Strong in the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament finals. This will be the first-ever singles match between MJF and Joe, with the ROH World Television Champion looking to lift the AEW World Championship for the first time.
The AEW Women’s World Championship will also be fought for at Grand Slam, with champion Saraya hoping to successfully defend against former Outcasts partner Toni Storm. The increasingly erratic Storm and Saraya have been at odds since All In in August, and Storm punched her ticket for Grand Slam after overcoming former champions Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Nyla Rose in four-way action on September 13.
Jon Moxley’s International Championship reign will face its sternest test thus far when he takes on Rey Fenix in singles action. Fenix attacked a bleeding Moxley backstage after Mox’s successful defence against Big Bill on Dynamite, with the pair having been at odds for weeks now.
These new matches will occur alongside the previously announced singles clash between Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, and the title vs. title match pitting ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli against NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston.
