Rapper Sexyy Red has become somewhat of a cameo star in the NXT brand over the last year, first showing up in May of 2024 to present the new Women’s NXT North American Championship, and later hosting the Battleground event.
When it comes to the relationship between Sexyy Red and WWE, there was a chance it could have been something more than just one-off cameo appearances, with the company reportedly offering to train her as a professional wrestler. During an interview with Dazed Digital, Sexyy Red revealed that she’d been handed the opportunity to be a full time wrestler, but had to turn it down due to not having the time. Speaking on wrestling, she compared it to rapping.
“Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same. It’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right? Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”
It’s probably best that for Booker T’s blood pressure more than anything else that Sexyy Red is not becoming a full-time regular on NXT, especially after his reaction the last time she was present.
