Shaquille O’Neal Hopes To Wrestle AEW's Paul Wight 'Really, Really Soon'

The two have hinted at a match for years

Shaquille O'Neal is lining up a long-rumoured match in All Elite Wrestling with Paul Wight, saying he hopes they 'can do something really, really soon'.

A big match between Shaq and Wight has been rumoured for years, with the duo reportedly close to agreeing a match during Wight's time with WWE. Then known as The Big Show, the closest duo got to a fight was during the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.

While a singles bout was rumoured for 'Mania 33, it never occurred.

The Basketball legend has said that bureaucracy got in the way of the two meeting in the past but Shaq is ready to lock up with Wight in the near future.

Shaq told PopCulture.com: “I hear Paul Wight is still talking trash. So I’m going to work out really hard this summer and maybe we can do something really, really soon.

"There shouldn’t be any problems for us getting together now. Last time there was a lot of bureaucracy and red tape. Now there is no red tape. I’m still kind of sore from that table so I’m going to work out during the summer, pump these muscles up and I’ll be waiting for you, Mr. Paul."
