Shawn Michaels Receives WWE Promotion

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels continues to climb up the company's corporate ladder.

CBS Sports have confirmed that the Heartbreak Kid was recently promoted to Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. He had previously been referred to as Vice President of Talent Development Creative in an August press release on the creation of NXT Europe.

Michaels began working with NXT in 2016 as a trainer, before transitioning into a writing and producing role under longtime friend Paul 'Triple H' Levesque. Following Levesque's cardiac event last summer, Michaels took over the creative direction of NXT, which was re-branded as NXT 2.0.

With this promotion, Michaels will continue to oversee the third brand's creative, while also being in charge of WWE developmental's talent development. As well as this, he will oversee NXT's expansion, including the planned launch of NXT Europe (which is set for 2023).

Earlier this year, it was reported that WWE were 'very high' on Shawn's work, amid the firings of NXT mainstays (and 'Triple H guys') such as Brian 'Road Dogg' James and William Regal.
