During his early years in WWE, the company looked to establish Sheamus as a major star and The Celtic Warrior had multiple reigns as WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, as well as a WrestleMania match against Triple H.

Speaking about those early years, Sheamus compared his babyface run to walking through quicksand and he admitted he believes that being able to get over organically has been missing from pro wrestling.

"I've never had that reaction before in my career. When I started, I was the heel. [Then] I was a babyface and the machine was behind me and the people knew the machine was behind me, and it was like walking in mud, walking in quicksand, man. Everything felt forced. Nothing felt natural. I'm telling you, the last 10 months with these two lads, it's been incredible, and it's organic. That's what's been missing from this business, people being able to organically grow, organically get over. You know, these two, these two guys have got great minds for this business," Sheamus said on the Ringer Wrestling Show.

Sheamus and the Brawling Brutes were initially heels on Friday Night SmackDown but they have developed into popular babyfaces on the blue brand during their feud with Imperium. The trio defeated Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match at Extreme Rules. A third singles match for Sheamus with Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship looks to be on the horizon.
