Shotzi To Be Out For 'Significant Amount Of Time' Following Serious Knee Injury

Bad news for the WWE star.

WWE star Shotzi is set for a long spell on the sidelines, according to a new report.

Shotzi suffered what was described as a 'freak injury' during an NXT taping on February 13. Shotzi was challenging Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women's Championship (in a match taped to air on February 20) when she struck her knee against the side of the ring while falling to the outside of the squared circle.

Shotzi was unable to continue and had to be helped backstage. NXT General Manager Ava then said that Valkyria would defend her title in an open challenge, which was answered by Lash Legend.

According to Fightful Select, while the exact nature of Shotzi's injury has not been disclosed, one source claimed that she would be out of action for 'a significant amount of time'. The 31-year-old was seen leaving the Performance Center on crutches.

A report claimed that NXT management were 'in a panic' following Shotzi's injury.

Shotzi was subsequently pulled from an Elimination Chamber qualifying match with Tiffany Stratton on the February 16 edition of SmackDown. She was replaced by Alba Fyre.

Commenting on the situation via X, Shotzi said:

"I don't have much to say right now other than I am devastated. It's heartbreaking to be missing my Elimination Chamber opportunity tonight. But I just wanted to wish all the women competing good luck. I'll open up more about how I'm feeling and my injury later".
