Shotzi Pulled From WWE SmackDown Following Serious Injury

Shotzi to miss WWE SmackDown following her freak injury

Following her injury during the February 13 tapings of WWE NXT, Shotzi has been pulled from Friday night's episode of SmackDown.

Shotzi was scheduled to take on Tiffany Stratton in a women's Elimination Chamber qualifying match on SmackDown. She has been replaced by Alba Fyre, with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confirming on social media that Shotzi had sustained an injury and would be replaced for SmackDown.

Due to key NXT people being needed in Australia, WWE taped the February 20 episode of NXT on Tuesday night. The main event of the taping saw Shotzi challenge Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women's Championship but the match was waved off after Shotzi sustained an injury in a "freak accident."

Shotzi was unable to put any weight on her leg after the injury and the situation was considered serious within WWE. There has been no official diagnosis of the injury or how long she will be out of action as of yet.

Naomi will take on Zelina Vega in the other women's Elimination Chamber qualifier on SmackDown. Logan Paul vs. The Miz and Kevin Owens vs. Dominik Mysterio are the two qualifying matches for the men's Elimination Chamber match. WWE will hold the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on Saturday, February 24 at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.
