No Change In Bron Breakker's WWE Main Roster Plans Following NXT Tag Team Title Win

Bron Breakker’s WWE Main Roster plans unchanged despite NXT Tag Team Title win

NXT has new tag team champions, after Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin defeated Tony D’Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo on the February 13 edition of WWE NXT.

The move was a surprise to many as Breakker recently received his official call-up to the WWE main roster after an impressive showing in the 2024 Royal Rumble, with many assuming Breakker was set to wind up his NXT run as a result.

A report from PWInsider states that despite the NXT Tag Team Championship win, there have been no changes to WWE’s plans for Breakker on main, with the second-generation star scheduled for the upcoming February 16 edition of WWE SmackDown in Salt Lake City.

A former two-time NXT Champion, many expected Breakker to receive his main roster call-up long before he did. After Brock Lesnar was implicated in the Vince McMahon sexual assault lawsuit, WWE decided to give Lesnar’s spot and booking in the Rumble match to Breakker, with Breakker’s status as a hot free agent turned into a storyline on WWE TV.

On WWE TV, both Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis are battling over Breakker’s signature, with the ‘Puppy Faced Gremlin’ expected to make his decision imminently.
