SPOILER: AEW Turning Real-Life Heat Into Programme At Rampage Grand Slam

A new feud around real-life heat is coming soon to AEW TV

Real-life issues will make their way to AEW TV in the coming days.

All Elite Wrestling taped the special Grand Slam edition of Rampage before and after Dynamite Grand Slam on Wednesday night at New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium. The pre-Dynamite taping of Rampage saw Mike Santana pick up a win over Bear Boulder and he looks set to feud with his former Proud & Powerful tag team partner as Santana and Ortiz had a staredown on the ramp following the match.

Santana and Ortiz have had issues stretching back to early 2022 and their tag team officially came to an end earlier this month after Santana announced he planned to be a singles wrestler going forward. The two men still have issues following Santana's return from injury but they agreed to team together at All In and then feud on TV following the Wembley Stadium show, Fightful Select reported. This is why their social media posts were so public, according to Fightful. Eddie Kingston also no longer sees eye to eye with Santana but the new ROH World Champion is open to working with him.

The exact reason for Santana and Ortiz falling out has not been revealed but Santana was unhappy with his position in AEW in 2022 and wanted more TV time. Ortiz, meanwhile, was simply happy making more money than he ever had in his career.

Santana and Ortiz initially began teaming together all the way back in 2012.

Outside of the new feud, a title change also took place at AEW Rampage Grand Slam. The show will air on TNT in the United States on Friday, September 22 at 10 pm ET.
