SPOILER On Multiple Matches Official For WWE NXT New Year's Evil

Multiple matches confirmed for NXT New Year’s Evil

WWE NXT held a rare round of TV tapings ahead of the festive period, with two episodes of TV recorded and set to air on December 19 and December 26.

At the tapings, multiple matches were made official for the upcoming NXT New Year’s Evil special on January 2 2024.

Both the men’s and women’s NXT Championships will be on the line at New Year’s Evil. In the men’s title scene, tensions are escalating between champion Ilja Dragunov and challenger Trick Williams, with Williams irate that he has to wait for a shot at the belt whilst Ridge Holland waltzes back into NXT and has a run at the champ on the same night, albeit non title. Whilst Williams’ win in the men’s iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline earned him the match at New Year’s Evil, that hasn’t stopped him showing his frustrations with Dragunov..

In the women’s NXT Championship scene, Champion Lyra Valkyria will be defending the gold against Blair Davenport, with Davenport having earned a shot thanks to her victory in the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline on December 9.

We will also get the finals of the 2023 Men’s Breakout Tournament at New Year’s Evil, after Oba Femi and Riley Osbourne punched their tickets. Femi defeated Tavion heights in his semi final match, whilst Osbourne overcame Lexis King to book his spot in the final.

Confirmed matches for NXT New Year’s Evil, January 2 2024:

  • Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Trick Williams - NXT Championship
  • Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Blair Davenport - NXT Women’s Championship
  • Oba Femi vs. Riley Osbourne - Men’s Breakout Tournament Final
