Spoilers: Huge WWE WrestleMania 38 Match Under "Heavy Consideration"

Dave Meltzer suggests that a huge WrestleMania match is all but confirmed.

On today's Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has suggested that WWE are heavily considering a huge WrestleMania 38 matchup.

When discussing Ronda Rousey's rumoured return at this weekend's Royal Rumble, Meltzer commented that a WrestleMania match between Rousey and Becky Lynch is "in heavy consideration" within WWE.

It was recently reported by Fightful Select that WWE are pursuing the former UFC Champion, with a view to her in-ring return. Rousey's last match came at WrestleMania 35 in April 2019, where she took the pinfall in the first-ever women's WrestleMania main event.

News of Rousey's return has made her one of the favourites to win the Royal Rumble match overnight. By winning the bout, she'd be able to pick her WrestleMania 38 opponent from the roster's current champions - which is theoretically how WWE would set up a showdown with Becky Lynch.

Lynch has been Raw Women's Champion since a tense belt-exchange with Charlotte Flair on the October 22, 2021 episode of SmackDown.

Meltzer also speculates that a full-time return for Rousey is doubtful, but acknowledges that she has recently been training hard.

The Royal Rumble takes place this Saturday, January 29.
