The provisional KOPW Openweight Title will be up for grabs at New Japan Pro-Wrestling Dominion on June 9, with Yuya Uemura putting the title on the line against The Great-O-Khan.

As is par for the course with the championship, both competitors announced their preferred stipulations ahead of time with NJPW fans voting on which rules the match would be contested under. Uemura got his wish with the match set to be contended under ‘Storm Catch rules’ as opposed to Khan’s preference for a 61 minute time limit, two-out-of-three falls contest.

Per NJPW, a ‘Storm Catch rules’ bout will have a 15 minute time limit. Each competitor has two rope breaks, after which breaking at the ropes or leaving the ring will be a disqualification, seemingly similar in tone to a Ring of Honor Pure Rules bout.
