The finals have been set for New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Best of the Super Juniors 31 tournament, with El Desperado set to face Taiji Ishimori for the prestigious trophy at NJPW Dominion on June 9.

Despy topped Group A with a 6-3 record for 12 points, defeating DOUKI in the semi-finals with Pinche Loco. Ishimori topped Group B with a stronger 7-2 record for 14 points, with Ishimori winning his semi-final match against TJP with a Bloody Cross.

Neither man has prevailed in the tournament in the past, and will both be bringing their a-game to Dominion on June 9. The BOSJ 30 tournament was won by Master Wato, whilst the prior three tournaments were won by Hiromu Takahashi.

El Desperado has previously been a finalist in the 2022 and 2020 tournaments, whilst Ishimori made the finals of the 2018 tournament - all three finals resulting in victory for the aforementioned Hiromu Takahashi.

Dominion is also set to feature multiple title matches, with IWGP World heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley putting the gold on the line against EVIL, whilst the NEVER Openweight Title, World TV Title, Provisional KOPW 2024 Championship, and the IWGP Tag Team Titles and NJPW Strong Tag Team Titles will also be contested on the show.
