SummerSlam 2026 Not Expected To Be Nick Aldis' Final WWE Match

Nick Aldis wrestled his first WWE match at SummerSlam 2026, and it is not expected to be his last.

Since signing with the company in 2023, Aldis has worked as the on-screen General Manager of SmackDown, but laced up his booths for the first time in WWE to face Gunther at SummerSlam. A report from Fightful Select suggested that Aldis could wrestle in WWE again, with sources in the company not believing he was one and done.

Coming out of the match with Gunther, Aldis was said to have been banged up. As to when Aldis decides to wrestle again has not been confirmed, with the ‘National Treasure’ settling back into his GM duties post-match, even playing a part in Night Two of SummerSlam by adding Gunther and Kevin Owens to the Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor number one contender’s match that opened the show.

The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and TNA Champion was clearly emotional during his bout with Gunther on Night One of SummerSlam, and despite a little ring rust, Aldis was in fantastic shape for someone who had not wrestled for nearly three years. If and when he wrestles again in WWE, it remains to be seen if the company will again pony up the money to license Oasis’ Morning Glory for his entrance music once more.
