Ted DiBiase Jr's Trial Expected To Be Delayed

Latest on legal proceedings involving Ted DiBiase Jr.

Ted DiBiase Jr. will likely have to wait to stand trial.

According to PWInsider and court records, the federal government has filed to delay the former WWE talent's trial as they need more time during an "extensive" discovery period. The trial was set to begin on June 20 but both sides are currently working on a timetable to determine when proceedings will start.

Ted DiBiase Jr. was charged with six counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and to commit theft concerning programmes receiving federal funds, four counts of money laundering, and two counts of theft concerning programmes receiving federal funds. It is alleged that DiBiase misappropriated government funds intended to assist low-income individuals and families.

With the money, it is alleged that DiBiase bought a boat, another vehicle, and made a down payment on a house. If found guilty, DiBiase could face decades in prison.

DiBiase pleaded 'not guilty' to all charges last month.

The son of Ted DiBiase, Ted DiBiase Jr. performed in WWE from 2006 and 2013. He was a member of Legacy with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes.
