Ted Watches WWE WrestleMania 9 Match Between Hulk Hogan & Yokozuna

Ted loved Hulk Hogan's WWE WrestleMania 9 title win

The end of WrestleMania 9 made one talking teddy bear very happy.

Following two movies, Ted will debut on the small screen in early 2024 with a seven-episode prequel series set in 1993. The series will air on Peacock in the United States and Sky Max in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

A moment from the upcoming prequel series was shown during a Monday Night Raw ad break this week which featured Ted watching the WrestleMania 9 match between Yokozuna and Hulk Hogan. Ted even celebrates Hogan defeating Yokozuna to win the WWF Championship.

Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna was the impromptu main event of WrestleMania 9 after Yokozuna cheated to defeat Bret Hart and win the WWF Championship. The Hulkster just couldn't let that stand, though, and after he came to ringside to check on Hart, Mr Fuji challenged Hogan to an impromptu match against Yokozuna. Hogan accepted, of course, and 22 seconds later he was the WWF Champion once again.

Plans for the Hulkster's title reign called for him to drop the WWF Championship to Bret Hart at SummerSlam 1993 in a passing-of-the-torch moment. Hart noted in his autobiography, though, that Hogan refused to lose the belt to him and would only drop it to Yokozuna, which he did at King of the Ring. Hart hasn't been a fan of Hogan ever since and the former Mr America commented on their heat in 2023

The official synopsis for Ted states: "It's 1993, and Ted the bear’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He's now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John's parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he's a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship."
