The Briscoes On AEW Match With FTR: "We're Only A Phone Call Away”
FTR want to prove they are the best team in the game, but they have to get through 'Dem Boys' first
FTR are currently regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in the World, having won tag titles across NXT, WWE, AAA, and AEW, and having faced off against the best teams in the business. But there’s one team they are yet to face: ‘dem boys’ Jay and Mark Briscoe, The Briscoe Brothers.
And it seems both teams want it to happen.
FTR's Dax Harwood recently told TSN.ca:
“I’ll do whatever I have to to make that match happen. We’ve faced every tag team that is considered great in our modern era. We’ve faced The Usos, we’ve faced the New Day, we’ve faced The Hardy Boyz, we’ve faced SCU, The Young Bucks, Proud-N-Powerful, Lucha Bros. All the teams that are considered the greatest teams of the last 10 years, we’ve faced and that includes DIY and American Alpha. To top that list, we have to face The Briscoes. Again, that’s going to be something that will be a mark on our legacy because we’re the only team to face that calibre of worldwide-known tag teams. We have to face them… I’m going to speak it into existence.”
With the upcoming ROH hiatus and cancelling of all wrestler contracts, it seems the match is more likely than ever before, and with Harwood claiming on Twitter that ‘dem boys’ are ducking FTR, Jay Briscoe gave his own thoughts on the matter:
