The Great Muta Appears At WWE Payback

The Great Muta was ringside last night at WWE Payback

After a report from PWInsider Elite revealed that The Great Muta was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania  on the same night as the WWE Payback 2023 premium live event, the newly inducted WWE Hall of Famer was in fact in attendance for the show.

Ahead of the Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura main event for the World Heavyweight Championship, the Japanese legend was shown in the Payback crowd. He didn’t get involved in proceedings, though his presence was intriguing given that earlier this year on his retirement tour, The Great Muta stepped foot in the ring with WWE-contracted superstar Shinsuke Nakamura in Pro Wrestling NOAH - a rare case of a main roster WWE star being allowed to work elsewhere. Muta witnessed Rollins managing to score the win over Nakamura, but also bore witness to the brutal post-show attack from Nakamura, who ambushed Rollins after the show went off the air.

Muta retired from professional wrestling earlier this year, and this was followed up by his WWE Hall of Fame induction at WrestleMania 39 weekend.
