Report: Backstage Reaction To CM Punk's AEW Firing

The firing of CM Punk has been sure to fire up a lot of opinions and reaction across the board, notably backstage at AEW. Following the announcement of CM Punk’s termination with AEW, a report has emerged on some of the backstage reaction in the company. 

It will likely come as no surprise that the reaction has been mixed, with both positive and negative reactions to hearing the news. PWInsider Elite have revealed that it all comes down to each individual wrestler, with there being no unanimous support or annoyance on the whole thing. 

“We are told that the reaction to the CM Punk AEW termination backstage at tonight's Collision in Chicago depends on the person.  Some are really down on it.  Others, as you can imagine, feel it was the right move and are happy about it. There are some who have relayed they are just happy Tony Khan made a decision and that they hope to just move forward and have the focus be on AEW and the shows themselves.”

Tony Khan made sure to inform fans that whilst a committee did suggest firing CM Punk was the correct call, it was a decision that came down to him and him alone.
