The Rock On How He Felt During Return To The Ring At WrestleMania 40

The Rock shrugged off his nerves at WrestleMania 40 when he got into the ring

The Rock returned to WWE in 2024, stepping foot back in the ring at WrestleMania 40 for the first time in a full-length match since 2013. He headlined Night One of WrestleMania, teaming with Roman Reigns to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

Speaking to ESPN, The Rock discussed his feelings ahead of WrestleMania, which was full of nerves, but noted that as soon as he locked up with Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, he felt fully at ease and gained a lot of confidence in being able to go.

“My very first lockup with Seth Rollins, that’s when it all clicked. It’s like you have a shift-and-click moment. It’s riding the bicycle. Then he tagged in Cody. First time ever, I locked up with Cody and the lockup feels good. The moment you lock up with somebody in our world of pro wrestling, you immediately know what kind of wrestler they are, if they’re going to be stiff, if they’re going to be smooth, if they’re going to be intense, if they’re going to be in control. Both guys smooth, in control.”

He went to explain how well-conditioned he felt for the match, with surety in himself to last the whole match and even go on for longer.
