The Rock will be gone from WWE "for a little while", he revealed during Monday night's Raw after WrestleMania 40.

The show opened with Triple H and then new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes, only for Cody to be interrupted by The Rock who told him "our story has just begun." Dwayne Johnson then told the fans in Philadelphia that he "has to go away for a little while" before Rhodes told The Rock he is looking forward to seeing how their story progresses.

Before The Rock departed WWE for the time being, though, he gave Cody Rhodes an unknown object before telling him never to break his heart again.

The Rock has been back full-time on WWE TV since January 2024, making his in-ring return in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night one as he and Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The Rock then interfered in the main event of night two but he was taken out by The Undertaker.

The Rock was expected to take time off following WrestleMania 40 with filming of A24's 'Smashing Machine' set to begin in May. The Rock will then work on the live-action 'Moana'. He will remain influential in WWE through his spot on the TKO Board of Directors.
