NXT Champions Make WWE Raw Debuts

Multiple NXT Champions debut on Raw after WrestleMania 40

Two NXT champions didn't have long to rest following Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 6.

The Raw after WrestleMania 40 aired from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Monday night and NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov made his Raw debut in the opening contest, taking on former NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Dragunov was able to make quick work of Nakamura, picking up the win after only four minutes with the Torpedo Moscow.

NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez then made her Raw debut later in the show, going one-on-one with former NXT Women's Champion Indi Hartwell. Perez's match was even shorter than Dragunov's, coming to an end after just under three minutes with a win for the former Rok-C. Perez then had a confrontation with Natalya following the match and the NXT Women's Champion challenged Natalya to come to NXT.

"I feel amazing. Honestly, I don't really need your congratulations. We all knew that I was going to become two-time NXT Women's Champion. We all knew that I was going to defeat Indi Hartwell, and if everybody else didn't know, I knew, and that's all that mattered," Perez stated.

"Natalya used to be one of my heroes. I met her when I was 13 years old, and I went up to her and asked her for advice, and she was nice enough to give me some. But now I realize I don't need Natalya. I don't need any of my own heroes, I am my own hero. If Natalya has a problem with that, she can come to my show and say it to my face."
