The Young Bucks Match Made Official For NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty

The Young Bucks are officially set for a return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with the former Bullet Club troublemakers set to challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championships at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025.

Matthew and Nicholas Jackson posted a video on November 26 insinuating that they were coming back to the Tokyo Dome to capture the heavyweight tag titles for a fourth time, and current champions Great-O-Khan and HENARE have accepted The Bucks’ challenge.

However, it’s not a sure thing that the United Empire duo will still be in possession of the titles come January 5, with it tradition for the champs to put the titles on the line against the winners of the World Tag League at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4.

The Bucks are three-time IWGP Tag Team Champions, and have held the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championships a record-setting seven times. The last time the divisive duo wrestled in an NJPW ring was at Wrestle Kingdom 13 in January 2019, where they lost a heavyweight tag title three-way against LIJ’s EVIL and SANADA, and The Guerrillas of Destiny of Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa.
