Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata raising the AEW World Trios Titles

The Death Riders' reign with the AEW World Trios Championships is over, having lost the belts on the special Spring BreakThru episode of Dynamite on Wednesday, April 16.

The main event saw Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Jon Moxley (substituting for PAC) defend the titles against Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs, with Hobbs replacing HOOK after the former FTW Champion was taken out by the Death Riders and taken to the hospital in an angle before Dynamite.

The Opps and Powerhouse Hobbs picked up the win after Samoa Joe choked out Jon Moxley with the Coquina Clutch. As has become typical of Death Riders matches, the main event featured plenty of interference as Swerve Strickland and Willow Nightingale got involved on behalf of The Opps, while The Young Bucks tried to help the Death Riders.

Following The Opps' win, the AEW locker room emptied to celebrate their victory and the defeat of the Death Riders as Dynamite went off the air.

HOOK's status is currently unknown. He vomited in the ring on last week's Dynamite but it was noted he did not suffer a concussion on the show.
