TNA held their Emergence 2024 streaming special from the Old Forester’s Paristown Hall in Louisville, Kentucky last night, and it was a show which featured shocking debuts, a big title change, and more up and down the card.
The main event of the evening saw Nic Nemeth outlast Josh Alexander in a gruelling 60-minute Iron Man match to successfully defend his TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The match started off slow and steady, but sprung into action as Nemeth rolled Alexander up for a pinfall to go 1-0 up in 12 minutes. This led to Alexander getting more aggressive, working over Nemeth for the next portion of the bout before Nemeth fired up for a fast-paced back and forth sequence which led to Nemeth hitting the Danger Zone to take a 2-0 lead. The pair worked hard to keep the crowd onside, who were chanting a variety of different things in the middle portion. Alexander managed to drum up a comeback by distracting the ref and hitting Nemeth with an object to make it 2-1, which Alexander followed up with another finisher straight away to make it 2-2. They continued with back-and-forths, near-falls, and more before Nemeth finally hit a C4 Spike of his own to win the match with just a few seconds left. After the match, JBL debuted in TNA to confront Ziggler.
Elsewhere on the show, Zachary Wentz became the new X-Division Champion, scaling the Ultimate X to retrieve the championship in a wild and chaotic bout involving the now former champion Mike Bailey, Jason Hotch, Hammerstone, Laredo Kid & Riley Osbourne.
