TNA Wrestling Considering Bringing Back Tessa Blanchard

TNA discussing bringing back Tessa Blanchard

A controversial talent may soon be back with TNA Wrestling.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there have been at least preliminary discussions within TNA Wrestling in recent weeks about bringing back Tessa Blanchard. There is no word on if TNA have directly reached out to Blanchard about a return but it has been discussed within the promotion. TNA have teased a "lights out" surprise for tonight's Rebellion pay-per-view but PWInsider noted Blanchard has not been spotted backstage at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas.

Tessa Blanchard performed for the then-IMPACT Wrestling from 2018 until 2020, becoming the first woman to win the IMPACT World Championship. Blanchard was fired by IMPACT in the Summer of 2020 while still champion after she refused to return for Slammiversary to drop the title.

Blanchard won the IMPACT World Title in controversial circumstances as her win came shortly after she had been accused of bullying several talents during her career. Another incident from April 2017 also allegedly saw Blanchard use a racial slur towards La Rosa Negra and spit in her face, although the two women have since made amends.

Blanchard was away from pro wrestling for almost two years from September 2020 until July 2022. She has since become a regular in CMLL and Blanchard has had 43 matches for the promotion since her debut in October 2023.
