Toni Storm reportedly won't be wrestling for AEW any time in the near future.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported the four-time AEW Women's World Champion will be out of action for "a long time" due to an undisclosed injury or injuries. This was ultimately the reason behind Toni Storm being pulled from AEW Dynamite.
Storm was scheduled to face Marina Shafir in a No Holds Barred Match on the March 18 episode of AEW Dynamite in a rematch from the AEW Revolution pay-per-view. Just 10 minutes before Dynamite went on the air, though, AEW shared a clip on social media of Storm laid out in a pool of her own blood as she was tended to by Luther and Mina Shirakawa.
It was announced at the beginning of Dynamite that Storm was not cleared to compete and she was ultimately replaced by Mina Shirakawa, who went on to defeat Marina Shafir with a Storm Zero in the No Holds Barred contest.
How Storm's injury will affect Ronda Rousey's plans in All Elite Wrestling is currently unknown. Rousey made her AEW debut at Revolution, brawling with Storm following Toni's win over Shafir, with the confrontation appearing to set up a future singles or tag team clash between Storm and Rousey.
