Toni Storm: "Thunder Rosa Says She's Injured"

Toni Storm is less than impressed with Thunder Rosa

The latest interim champion of 2022 was crowned at All Elite Wrestling's All Out pay-per-view on September 4 as Toni Storm defeated Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker, and Hikaru Shida to win the Interim AEW Women's World Championship.

An interim champion needed to be crowned after AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa announced on a recent episode of Dynamite that she was dealing with an injury and was, therefore, unable to defend her title against Storm at All Out. It then emerged that Rosa is dealing with a back injury that will keep her out of action for a couple of months, although rumours suggested La Mera Mera did not have a legitimate injury and her absence stemmed from major heat she had with Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.

Storm ultimately alluded to rumours of Rosa's injury being fake in the AEW All Out media scrum, saying: "I mean, it's not ideal [being an interim champion]. But Thunder Rosa says she's injured. Okay. So when she says she's not injured, she can come back and lose to me, and that will be the end of that."

If Storm's comments were a work or a shoot is unknown, but she will face her Thunderstorm tag team partner when Rosa returns from injury in an AEW Women's World Title unification match and Storm may have simply been adding intrigue to the eventual clash.

Storm was originally set to face and defeat Rosa for the women's title at All Out prior to Thunder's injury.
