Tony Khan Addresses MJF's AEW Status Following Removal From Roster Page

Tony Khan has commented on MJF's contract status. Sort of.

AEW CEO Tony Khan has addressed the status of MJF after the former AEW World Champion was removed from the roster page on the company's website.

MJF's record-breaking 406-day reign came to an end at Worlds End (on December 30) when he lost to Samoa Joe. Two days later, MJF's profile was gone from the AEW roster page.

The 27-year-old has for years referenced the 'bidding war of 2024', noting that his AEW deal expired on January 1, 2024.

Asked about MJF's contract status during a recent appearance on Going Ringside, Khan said:

"I can say that MJF certainly has been a great part of AEW for the first five years. And through those five years, certainly, he's been one of our great homegrown stars…and he's somebody we really value and I would love to have MJF in AEW in the future, should the contractual situation allow. Certainly, MJF is somebody we would love to have an AEW going forward. And he's been a great wrestler and a great champion for us".

While MJF may very well be a free agent at present, most believe he signed a new long-term deal with AEW in 2022.

MJF could possibly be out of action for up to a year as he recovers from various injuries.
