Tony Khan Provides Early Estimate Of AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door PPV Buys

Tony Khan views Forbidden Door as a "big success"

Tony Khan has touted Sunday's Forbidden Door pay-per-view between AEW and NJPW has a "big success" and the AEW President estimated the show has done over 100,000 pay-per-view buys.

"The show was a big success. We had ticket sales of over $1.1 million. I think it will be within literally thousands, just behind Double Or Nothing, but right there, both over $1.1 million live ticket sales. The pay-per-view, I said if we hit 100,00 worldwide buys, I would feel it's a big success and I feel very comfortable now, based on the early digital numbers, saying we did 100,000 buys and more. I feel great about that," Khan said.

Khan did not say how many buys above 100,000 the pay-per-view may have done. AEW's pay-per-views so far this year have done between 160,000-170,000 for Revolution, and 145,000-165,000 for Double Or Nothing, according to Wrestlenomics

The consensus on Forbidden Door so far is that from an in-ring perspective, this show was an all-time great. It also featured several major moments. Check out the full results from the show here.
