Tony Khan's Reaction To CM Punk's WWE Return Revealed

How did Tony Khan react to CM Punk's WWE return?

Tony Khan appears to have been largely unfazed by CM Punk's return to WWE.

CM Punk and Tony Khan had previously worked closely together and were friends during the Second City Saviour's run with All Elite Wrestling from August 2021 until his firing with cause in September 2023. Punk was ultimately fired after multiple incidents with Tony Khan at All In and a backstage altercation with Jack Perry. It is unknown if Khan and Punk have communicated since the August pay-per-view.

Punk made his comeback to WWE to close out Survivor Series on Saturday, November 25 and it has been the talk of the wrestling world ever since. Tony Khan himself doesn't seem too concerned, however, with Fightful Select reporting that Tony Khan was more bothered about losing Katsuyori Shibata on Saturday night than CM Punk heading back to WWE.

Katsuyori Shibata has been one of the stars of Ring of Honor in 2023 but he suddenly dropped the ROH Pure Championship to Wheeler Yuta on Saturday night's edition of Rampage. The title change reportedly came about because Shibata needs to return to Japan for an extended period as soon as possible. Shibata wanted to stick around until Final Battle on December 15 but was ultimately unable to do so.

Tony Khan has been asked publicly about CM Punk's WWE return, telling BBC Radio West Midlands:

"Can't talk about that, nor do I think it's the time or the place," Khan responded. "But I appreciate you asking, and I'm very excited about AEW All In Wembley Stadium. Not to dodge or duck your question, it's just not something I can legally talk about."

Talents within AEW have also reacted to CM Punk's WWE return.
