AEW Backstage Reaction To CM Punk's WWE Return

How has the AEW locker room responded to CM Punk's WWE return?

It's fair to say that CM Punk made quite the impression on the AEW locker room during his tumultuous two-year run with Tony Khan's promotion. Following Punk's return to WWE at Survivor Series, said locker room have some opinions on how the 45-year-old may fare moving forward.

PWTorch's Wade Keller cited one AEW wrestler (who did not miss Punk) as stating their belief he will have a smoother ride in WWE. This, they noted, was because WWE has better leadership on every level as compared with AEW. It was said, however, that the locker room morale in AEW had improved since Punk's controversial departure.

Keller's source reiterated their belief that Paul 'Triple H' Levesque will be a greater source of leadership than Khan, while the Straight-Edge Superstar should have an incentive to behave and prove his point that he was not the issue behind-the-scenes in AEW.

It remains to be seen how the wider WWE locker room will react to Punk, who is set to appear on tonight's episode of Raw.
