Top Talent To Seemingly Be Absent From SmackDown Until WrestleMania 40

One WWE talent to be absent from SmackDown until WrestleMania 40

Friday Night SmackDown will seemingly be without one of their top stars until WrestleMania 40 on April 6 and April 7.

AJ Styles vs. LA Knight was finally made official on the March 15 edition of SmackDown. The feud had been bubbling away for weeks but stepped into the next gear after Styles cost LA Knight a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber. Knight challenged Styles to a match at WrestleMania on SmackDown and AJ accepted the challenge after attacking Knight from behind.

The former Eli Drake vowed to get revenge on Styles but the former WWE Champion has since revealed he won't be on SmackDown before WrestleMania.

"So let me get this straight, LA Knight. The next time you see me, you're gonna physically harm me? Well, I'm not gonna let that happen, I'm not that stupid. I won't be at SmackDown, so you can keep looking. But I'll be at WrestleMania. I'll see you there," Styles said on X (FKA Twitter).

Other headline matches at WrestleMania 40 include Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of night two. The April 6 leg of WrestleMania 40 will feature a main event of Roman Reigns and The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
