Triple H Explains 'Odd Build' To Stephanie Vaquer Vs. Iyo Sky

Stephanie Vaquer has been conspicuous by her absence in recent weeks, not being overly present on the road to Wrestlepalooza despite her having a scheduled Women’s World Championship match with Iyo Sky at the premium live event. WWE would delay a contract signing in the build to the show, and Iyo Sky did much of the heavy lifting when it comes to the build, with her ongoing tensions with the likes of Asuka and Kairi Sane taking much of the focus, resulting in a strange build to their match. 

WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has officially revealed why she was absent from WWE TV when speaking on the Wrestlepalooza post-show. 

“I’ll let everybody in on a behind-the-scenes secret with Stephanie. In the last few weeks, Stephanie has been very sick. I don’t know all the details of what the flu-type thing going on, but she was very sick. It’s why she missed TV and why there was an odd build to it. She was able to feel well enough and get cleared medically to compete tonight”.

Vaquer went on to win the Women’s World Championship, defeating Iyo Sky to win her first WWE world title. The gold was vacated by Naomi, who announced her pregnancy last month.
