Triple H looking down and ahead on WWE Unreal

While admitting that WWE have shifted the paradigm themselves with shows like WWE Unreal on Netflix, Triple H still wishes fans directed their passion more towards the wrestlers inside the squared circle as opposed to the writers of the company's scripted TV shows like Raw and SmackDown.

Appearing on WWE Radio, the WWE chief content officer stated:

"Whether we're doing something right or we're doing something wrong, I love that passion. I love it. It's amazing. You're not always going to agree with everything that happens. It's a funny thing, though, in this business now because the paradigm has shifted to some degree of everybody knows now kind of what it is, and we've opened that wide open with Unreal. It does make me laugh sometimes when I see the old timers who are legends in our business talking about, 'They give away too much. They tell me people the insider stuff too much.' Meanwhile they're on a podcast where they do exactly that every single day and have been doing it for years. It's okay when they do it, right?

"But that passion is what drives people and it's no different from the NFL where guys that have never played a down of football or haven't played since pee- wee or whatever are screaming and ranting, 'This coach sucks. He knows nothing about football. Doesn't understand the game. Why would he run that play?' It's that passion and just like the NFL or NBA or Major League Baseball, people sit on their couch and yell, 'I’m done. I'm never watching the Knicks again. They suck.' Then they win and now they're the greatest thing ever and people are turning out in droves.

"So it’s amazing. It’s passion. At the end of the day, it’s why we do what we do. I wish sometimes we could put that passion into the talent now as opposed to, you know, it’s like when somebody gets heat in our business, it’s like, 'God, why would they write that that way?' as opposed to, 'That no good piece of crap did this.' I wish people could buy into sometimes, like there’s something to saying that innocence of not knowing and it still being real to be damnit. But it is what it is, but I love that. I love the hate. I love the love. It’s all passion for what we do."

While primarily remaining positive, Triple H has often slipped in a backhanded compliment when discussing WWE fans publicly, including earlier this summer when he admitted to believing that people take WWE too seriously.

Triple H has received plenty of criticism from WWE fans in 2026, in particular this week after what many called the worst segment in the history of WWE Raw between Danhausen, Joe Hendry, the Judgment Day, and controversial boxer Ryan Garcia.
