Hurricane Milton made landfall on Wednesday night and the hurricane has caused devastation in the Tampa Bay area due to high winds and heavy rainfall.

Damage caused by the hurricane includes St. Petersburg's Tropicana Field, the home of MLB's Tampa Bay Rays. The stadium was set to be used as a base camp for first responders and debris cleanup operations but part of the roof of the stadium has been blown off due to the high winds. First responders who were inside the stadium at the time of the incident are safe, though.

Hurricane Milton brought with it numerous tornadoes and storm surges, with a number of deaths already being reported along the Atlantic coast. Two million homes are also currently without power.

WWE used Tropicana Field for the WWE Thunderdome from December 2020 until April 2021. The set up saw Raw, SmackDown, and WWE pay-per-views air from the arena.

WWE returned to Tropicana Field earlier this year for the 2024 edition of the Royal Rumble. The men's match was won by Cody Rhodes, who became the first person this millennium to win back-to-back Rumbles. The Women's Royal Rumble was won by Bayley.
