Appearing on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Tully Blanchard has confirmed he is no longer a part of AEW/ROH, revealing that his departure was "a little more complex" than his contract simply expiring.
Tully said:
"Well, I'm no longer with AEW or Ring of Honor or any subsidiaries thereof. That sounded pretty legal didn't it?...So I would imagine that my wrestling career is probably over other than doing autographs shows and things like we did in Nashville (Starrcast), although I don't know how many retirement matches, last matches [Ric] Flair can have so...
"It was a little more complex than that (his departure from AEW/ROH was more than just a contract situation) but, my contract is up and I'm gone. I am probably done. I doubt that AEW would have me come back. I doubt that WWE would have me come back and where else would you go except those two places?"
It was noted following July's ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view that Blanchard was effectively gone from AEW/ROH. Tully was scheduled to manage Tully Blanchard Enterprises members Jonathan Gresham, Brian Cage, and Gates of Agony on the show but it was suddenly announced during the pay-per-view that the stable had been sold to Prince Nana to establish a new iteration of The Embassy.
The WWE Hall of Famer had been a part of All Elite Wrestling since 2019, first managing Shawn Spears before he later became the manager of FTR and then The Pinnacle as a whole.
Blanchard returned to the ring in AEW, teaming with FTR to defeat Jurassic Express on a March 2021 episode of Dynamite.
