Two Matches Added To WWE Backlash

The June PPV is taking shape...

Next month's WWE Backlash pay-per-view is taking shape, with the announcement of two new matches on Friday, one of which is contingent on a number one contender's match on this Monday's Raw.

It was announced on Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown that The Miz and John Morrison will collectively challenge for Braun Strowman's Universal title at the upcoming Backlash pay-per-view.

On Friday's show, Miz and Morrison's Dirt Sheet segment led to Strowman defeating Miz in a singles bout, despite Morrison's interference. Morrison then challenged Strowman to the handicap match, which the champion accepted.

In addition, Asuka will defend the Raw Women's championship against the winner of a triple threat match, taking place this week on Raw. The participants are NXT Women's champion Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Natalya.

The card for WWE Backlash, scheduled for Sunday, June 14, at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, is as follows:

*WWE World: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley

*WWE Universal/Handicap match: Braun Strowman (c) vs. John Morrison and The Miz

*Raw Women's: Asuka (c) vs. TBA (either Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, or Natalya)

*Edge vs. Randy Orton
