Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Number One Contenders Match Set For SmackDown: New Years Revolution

Roman Reigns' next Undisputed WWE Universal Title challenger to be decided in two weeks

Roman Reigns’ next title defence has been officially set, as the Tribal Chief will put his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line at the upcoming 2024 Royal Rumble premium live event on January 27. His opponent hasn’t been decided yet, but in two weeks time a triple threat match will take place to determine his challenger.

It was announced last night by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis that Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles will battle at SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution on January 5. Orton and Knight have developed a partnership in recent weeks in their battles with The Bloodline, though Styles’ return to SmackDown saw him attack Knight, something which Orton didn’t have too much of an issue with.

Regardless of who is friends with who, all three men have one thing in mind - the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Orton previously laid out a challenge to Reigns for the Rumble, only for Reigns to refuse, leading to Orton heading back down the line to earn a shot.
