Unrecognised Championship Changes Hands On WWE NXT

An unrecognised title switch on WWE NXT

An unrecognised championship changed hands on the August 8 edition of WWE NXT.

Noam Dar has not been the NXT Heritage Cup Champion since he lost the trophy to Nathan Frazer at NXT Gold Rush in June. Dar has continued to carry around a Heritage Cup trophy, though, as he was trapped in a pit of despair after Oro Mensah lost the title on his behalf at Gold Rush, which led to Meta-Four gifting the Scottish Supernova a new title.

Dar's spirits were rejuvenated following the gift but he ended up losing the unrecognised NXT Heritage Cup Championship on Tuesday's NXT as he lost two falls to one against Tyler Bate. While he knew it wasn't the official NXT Heritage Cup Title, Bate celebrated his win nonetheless, only to later hand the trophy back to Noam Dar after they argued backstage over who the titleholder was.

The act of kindness came at the encouragement of Nathan Frazer, who agreed to put the official NXT Heritage Cup Championship on the line against Noam Dar at NXT Heatwave on August 22.
