Report: WWE 'Creative Force' Wants To Delay Jey Uso Vs. Jimmy Uso Until WrestleMania 40

A somewhat controversial decision for Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso could be on the horizon

WWE may well delay a major match for the next several months.

The company decided to split up one of their biggest tag teams of the past decade at SummerSlam on August 5 when Jimmy Uso turned on his brother Jey Uso during the main event of the show, costing Jey the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the process in his Tribal Combat Match against Roman Reigns.

The angle has been widely derided, although WWE will have the opportunity to get the Bloodline programme back on track on SmackDown in the 'Hail to the Chief' segment with Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso.

The expectation is Jey Uso will face his brother in singles action, but that match might not be taking place in the near future. According to WrestleVotes, a "creative force" wants WWE to delay the match until WrestleMania 40. That is currently considered unlikely, however, with WrestleMania eight months away.

"Hearing that at least one creative force backstage wants WWE to wait for WrestleMania to do the first Uso 'Brother v Brother' match. However that's unlikely at this point I'm told, with the feeling that 35 weeks is too long of a stretch," WrestleVotes tweeted.

WrestleMania 40 is scheduled to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 6 and April 7, 2024. The rumoured main event for the show is Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns II.
