Upcoming WWE NXT Tapings To Reportedly Allow For Performance Center Upgrades

WWE is taping the next few weeks of NXT programming

WWE is holding NXT tapings next week to cover for at least a month's worth of television, in order to reportedly allow time for updates to be made to the WWE Performance Center.

WWE is planning to tape a number of episodes of NXT programming next week, following NXT TakeOver 36 this weekend, with reports indicating that the pre-recorded shows will take the black-and-gold brand up until the Tuesday 14 September 2021 show.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is being done so WWE have a number of weeks available to made needed updates to the Performance Center.

WWE NXT's agreement with Full Sail University has come to an end, per the report, and the WWE PC will now be the long-term home of the black-and-gold brand. With that in mind, the promotion want to make some changes to make NXT look as vibrant as possible.

There is a belief backstage that, on television, NXT shows look too dark and therefore the idea is to add more lighting and make the studio appear brighter and more colourful.

WWE have also reportedly sent out a survey to fans about whether they feel the Plexiglas used is good or bad, meaning the show could return to not having it around the ring and on the barricades.
