Update On Abadon Following Injury Reports

From her match at Thursday's Dynamite tapings...

It was reported that AEW wrestler Abadon was injured at Thursday's TV tapings, while filming a match with Tay Conti.

The initial report from Dave Meltzer claimed that Abadon required hospitalization for the injury, but that a full recovery was expected. At the time, it wasn't clear what the nature of the injury was.

Meltzer provided an update on an early Sunday morning edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Apparently, during the match, Abadon took an elbow to her throat and was unable to breathe. The match was immediately stopped, and she was sent to the hospital for further evaluation.

Due to the stoppage, it isn't likely that the match will air on this Wednesday's Dynamite.

Abadon wrestled her first match for AEW back in March, at the tapings near Denver (the same region where Abadon has primarily wrestled in her brief career). She lost to Hikaru Shida in a match taped for Dark.

Since then, Abadon has wrestled sporadically for the company, mostly on Dark. She defeated Anna Jay on an episode of Dynamite in June, after which she was formally signed by the promotion.
