All Elite Wrestling could be set to get rid of one of their championships.

Reports have noted in recent weeks that pitches have been made within AEW to combine the Continental Title with the International Championship. An update on the situation from Fightful Select has revealed that pitches have been made dating back several months to the point that many in the promotion considered the combining of the titles to be "firm creative plans."

AEW's exact plans to combine the championships are unknown. It is also unclear if the combining of the belts would feature Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega, although the longtime rivals are the reigning Continental Champion and International Champion respectively. Reports have noted that Omega vs. Okada is planned for All In Texas in July.

Kazuchika Okada has been AEW Continental Champion since March 20, 2024. Kenny Omega recently won the AEW International Championship from Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution on March 9.

All Elite Wrestling made moves to consolidate the number of championships the promotion uses in 2024 when the FTW Title was retired by HOOK.
