Update On Bandido’s Injury Status And Return

Bandido won't be back in AEW just yet

Bandido has been absent from AEW programming for over a year, last wrestling against Konosuke Takeshita on the June 16, 2023 episode of AEW Rampage before being ruled out for the foreseeable future with a broken wrist. He has undergone multiple surgeries since, and based on recent talk, it doesn’t look like he will be back in the next month at least.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has noted that Bandido looked to try and get cleared a few weeks ago following a successful surgery on his wrist, but he was not cleared yet. He is set to be evaluated again later this month, but it looks doubtful that he will factor into AEW’s All In London plans for Wembley Stadium even if he does get cleared.

Meltzer went on to discuss the fact that there is apparently a ‘race’ between WWE and AEW to try and make either Dragon Lee or Bandido a bigger star, though neither have yet to establish themselves in either company, though in Bandido’s case his momentum was firmly halted due to outside factors. Bandido was originally slated for a return last month, but this has been delayed.
